On April 22, 2024, Roblox anti-cheat staff revealed they would soon release the all-new "Hyperion V4" update to combat the ongoing war against Roblox exploiters. When people started complaining about exploits like Krampus/Ro-exec, Roblox staff responded, saying action would be taken soon. Roblox finally released Hyperion V4 on 8th May 2024, and with this, Krampus/Ro-exec announced they would have prolonged downtime due to Hyperion's increased security measures. While I don't believe any of the above to be true, I do believe there is more to the story behind the Krampus/Ro-exec. The only thing I want to bring up about it is the original release day announcement made from the Hydrogen Discord server. It was never made clear what the exact relationship between Hydrogen and Krampus was. Still, I personally believe that they were involved in getting away with the crypto gains made from selling subscriptions. Another executor down and another victory for Roblox. I strongly believe that Cheat Buddy is the final hope and we'll get to see that soon when Electron V3 releases. We also still have RCM & RC7 to look forward to, so 2024 isn't over yet, and we still have some final bits of hope for one last run in this community. freeROBLOX ANTI CHEAT HYPERION POSSIBLY GOING KERNEL MODE IN THE FUTURE
If you've been using Roblox executors within the last two years, you'll likely have heard the words "Byfron" and "Hyperion" frequently mentioned. The Byfron company was started in 2021 with the goal of protecting games from cheaters, mass botting, etc. They specialise in anti-tamper/anti-cheat solutions and have a track record of protecting games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Overwatch and Valorant. In October 2022, Roblox made a bid for the Byfron company and successfully acquired and merged with it, so Byfron is now a subsidiary of Roblox. It wasn't until April 27th 2023 that we saw the Hyperion Anti-Cheat/Anti-Tamper software implemented into a beta version of Roblox for a few users. This quickly escalated as by May 3rd 2023, it was released to the official "LIVE" channel Roblox build we didn't realize this at the time, but this marked the official end to the most prominent exploit/executor software ever to be released "Synapse X" which sadly never updated again after the introduction of Hyperion and later joined Roblox themselves as part of the "Exploit Prevention Update" almost a year later from the original Hyperion RDC 2022 announcement. So now, hopefully, you understand a little more about Byfron and Hyperion, which brings us to the main topic of this post. Fast-forward to February 2024 with the mysterious release of a new executor called Krampus/Ro-exec. It has survived for over one month and appears to bypass the Hyperion anti-tamper/anti-cheat, at least for now. The Roblox anti-cheat/anti-tamper currently operates in what's known as "user mode", which operates at the ring 3 level of your operating system, while "kernel mode" operates at what's known as ring 0. Ring 0 has direct access to the CPU and system memory, allowing a much deeper dive into what exactly runs behind the scenes of your operating system. This means if Roblox decides to turn up the heat and take Hyperion to ring 0, it would have more control over your system and more capabilities of detecting executors or any cheating software you're running. People strongly disagree that Roblox will ever go Kernel mode, but I believe it's inevitable and will 100% happen eventually. The fact that the admin is speaking so openly about it on the dev forum, in my opinion, pretty much confirms it will be introduced later down the line, but for now, they're just brainstorming and scheming. The solution they speak about here reminds me of the days before Roblox forced filter enabling and had it as an optional toggle. Game developers would have to enable filtering to be protected by it manually. This solution is pretty much the same, but instead of switching to filtering enabled, you will be switching to Hyperion kernel mode for your Roblox experience. Things are starting to get interesting on both sides, and I'm very interested in seeing who will come out on top after this lengthy battle of cat and mouse. The developers of Krampus/Ro-exec are confident they will last for many years, and we still have cheat Buddy's "system guard" solution to look forward to.
